March/April Update: A Well, a Basketball Court, and a Medical Evacuation

What’s New at School: (Dovene and Hannah standing with the Mason who oversaw the cement pouring for the new basketball court) A new basketball court for our students!  We are so thrilled to finally have the basketball court concrete completed!  This basketball court has been a couple years in the making and we are so thankful for our student sponsors that took up the challenge to complete it!  There was a holiday giving while we were on furlough in the US at Creekside Church of Christ in Texas where families who sponsor students took up the challenge to complete the court.  We are...

January Update

We’re Back! We (Dovene, Sara, Nathan, and Hannah) are safely back in Togo.  We were blessed to have this previous season in the US and to be able to meet up with so many of you.  To those of you who we were not able to catch up with this trip, we hope that God will bless us to be able to meet up with you again the next time we return to the US.  It was a joy to be able to represent the mission at ICOM and among many of you all, our Church families and partners.  We continue to pray for each of you. Our return travels went rather smoothly.  The kids really did well on the flights and we...

November Update: ICOM and Restoration Farms

International Conference on Missions We (Dovene and Sara and Kids) were blessed this year to be able to attend and have a booth at ICOM (International Conference on Missions).  It was held right in Richmond, VA so close to where many of our supporters are based out of this year.  It was such an encouragement to catch up with many partners in ministry and even our parent organization, Outreach International.  We were able to attend the yearly board meeting while there and it was definitely awesome to hear what God is accomplishing around the world and share what He is doing in Togo. Another...

Double Feature: August/September Update!

Interns, Visitors, and Friends! August and September have been full of blessings for us.  We have been encouraged by time spent with visitors and friends.     (Kimberly stopping for a photo with the children in the Vo-Asso Church)   (Kimberly helping with our merit sale at the end of the school year)   First of all, Kimberly was our intern in the Christian School this summer.  She helped teach English to our school children during the month of June until they were released in July.  She also helped with Adult English...

July Update: School Closing Ceremony and New Arrival

(Hammer sharing during the closing ceremony for the school)  School Closing Ceremony School is officially out for the summer here at Togo Christian Mission.  We had an amazing year here with the students.  The kids came out with fantastic results on their government exams as well.  99% of our 6th grade students passed their government exams and 90% of all our students (1st to 6th grade) passed their government exams and are able to move on to the next grade!   (Our school cooks, Tassi and Ablavi, serving with glad hearts as always as they distribute the food to the children during the...

June Newsletter: Totchoani Update and New Teammate and Intern

(Dovene starting with the storying via the simple Church Method in Totchoani) Totchoani Update I (Dovene) have been really encouraged in the process of discipling two guys who are always on the ball to learn more in the word.   Their names are George and Eric. They are serious about making disciples and we are meeting for training on Saturday and Sunday evenings.  There are two other young men named Koffi and Allain who have come to some of the meetings as well but have not been consistent.  They are not yet Christians so we are hoping to encourage them by sharing more about the...
